Lerab Ling

Lerab Ling is situated on the remote Larzac plateau of the region of Languedoc-Roussillion in the South of France. Founded by Sogyal Rinpoche in 1991, it has developed into an important centre of transmission of the Buddhist teachings in Europe.

Masters who visit Lerab Ling have often said that it's very like the hidden lands of the Himalayas where meditation arises in the mind quite naturally and study and practice can flourish.

Amongst these masters are some of the most eminent in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, for example His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Sakya Trizin, Kyabjé Penor Rinpoche and Kyabjé Trulshik Rinpoche.

In this unique environment a tremendous number of important teachers and teachings have already turned the wheel of the dharma, and as this continues to happen, along with intensive practice and continuous study, they believe that Lerab Ling will play an important role in bring the Buddhist teachings to the West and in the process benefit countless modern people.
